To better understand the educational experiences of foster youth, the Institute for Evidence-Based Change partnered with the Center for Social Services Research at UC Berkeley to conduct a study of high school and college outcomes among California foster youth.
The Foster Youth Transitions study identifies the challenges facing foster youth, who are twice as likely as other youth to drop out of high school, and provides recommendations for policy and practice. The study sheds light on the differences among various groups of foster youth and includes comparisons to other disadvantaged populations
