In the system since he was an infant, at 18 Walter was ready to go. While he had lived with this same foster mother most of his life, he was done with foster care and wanted to age out.

The biggest day on Los Angeles’ child welfare calendar shows what foster care is really about. When many people think about foster care, their thoughts immediately go to the heart wrenching headlines they read in the newspaper.

My mother, Diane Gaye Charbonneau Hall, was born on December 20, 1936. I have been told she was a beautiful French woman, that she was tall, thin, quiet and sweet. I have a picture of her in my living room and in the picture she’s beautiful.
