The Journalism for Social Change MOOC is Back
Last year, I took my longstanding class at U.C. Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, Journalism for Social Change (J4SC), online. With the help of edX, a platform for Massive Open Online Classes, or MOOCs, we were able to teach thousands of students from around the globe how to produce solution-based journalism that drives social change.
Ed O’Brien, Street Law Founder, Passes at 69
Edward O’Brien, the co-founder of a pioneer organization in law-related education for youth, passed away this month at the age of 69. O’Brien, a Georgetown Law School student at the time, co-founded Street Law in 1972 with law professor Jason Newman and community activist and philanthropist Nancy Harrison.
