Alliance for Children and Families Will Move Headquarters to D.C., Change Name

The Alliance for Children and Families has moved its headquarters from Milwaukee, Wisc., to Washington, D.C., and will change its name to the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, CEO Susan Dreyfus announced today at the organization’s national conference in Pittsburgh.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation Awards Grant to Support Transformative Child and Family Service Organizations

Annie E. Casey Foundation Baltimore, Maryland www.aecf.org The Annie E Casey Foundation has awarded the Milwaukee-based membership organization, The Alliance for Children and Families, a $100,000 grant. The grant will be used to implement a program run by The Alliance that supports child and family behavioral health service providers, as they transition from a traditional residential care approach to a new model that emphasizes a child- and family-centered values approach.

United Neighborhood Centers of America to Merge with Alliance for Children and Families

The 102-year-old United Neighborhood Centers of America (UNCA) will merge its members into the Alliance for Children and Families in 2014, the Milwaukee-based organizations announced today. UNCA’s members, many of which are urban community centers and settlement houses, will become Alliance members in January.

    Doug Diefenbach has joined the Alliance for Children and Families as senior vice president of marketing and philanthropy. It is a newly-created position at the organization, which represents 350 members in the youth and family services industry.

    Starr Commonwealth CEO Marty Mitchell was awarded the Samuel Gerson Nordlinger Child Welfare Leadership Award by the Milwaukee-based Alliance for Children and Families, a membership group representing 360 youth and family service providers around the country.
