Christina Baker Kline wrote a compelling story called the Orphan Train. It depicts an era of abandoned children of the 1800s and 1900s. Many of the challenges back then are present in today’s government child welfare intervention. Today there are many issues with unaccompanied and undocumented immigrant children and children of undocumented parents living in the U.S.
