NRRC compiled copious data on reconviction, recidivism and revocations among adult offenders in eight states that have made efforts to improve their reentry process.
All eight states saw a reduction in their own definition of recidivism, and the report highlights the new projects and ventures undertaken to help drive those rates down. Many of them were and are funded under the Second Chance Act, a piece of federal legislation that directs grant spending on reentry projects.
Nearly all of the states had a prodigious drop in the number of parole or probation violations.
