The Annie E Casey Foundation has awarded the Milwaukee-based membership organization, The Alliance for Children and Families, a $100,000 grant. The grant will be used to implement a program run by The Alliance that supports child and family behavioral health service providers, as they transition from a traditional residential care approach to a new model that emphasizes a child- and family-centered values approach.
The 15 Alliance-selected member organizations will be connected with experts in the behavioral health field as they engage in a strategic change effort. The new model focuses on evidence-based practices, child-family centered practices and building a continuum of care for clients.
The 15 organizations that make up the Alliance for Children and Families Residential Transformation Cohort are:
Auberle, McKeesport, PA
Casa de los Ninos, Tucson, AZ
CEDARS Youth Services, Lincoln, NE
ECH Every Child’s Hope, St. Louis, MO
EmberHope, Inc., Wichita, KS
Epworth Children & Family Services, St. Louis, MO
Green Chimneys, Brewster, NY
Lad Lake Inc., Dousman, WI
LaSalle School, Albany, NY
Lawrence Hall Youth Services, Chicago, IL
Nexus, Plymouth, MN
Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services, St. Louis, MO
St. James Home of Duluth (Woodland Hills), Duluth, MN
Vanderheyden Hall Inc., Wyantskill, NY
Villa of Hope, Rochester, NY
The organizations will receive guidance from executive level leaders in the field, on topics such as policy; practice/service-philosophy; budget/financial modeling; program/service array; culture and change management; staffing/workforce; and partnerships and community connections.
“Leaders in the Alliance network will help their peer organizations—who are seeking to produce durable, positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and families—shift their model because we all believe that quality, evidence-based stabilization and treatment services for children and adolescents with significant behavioral health challenges is a crucial part of America’s home- and community-based system of care,” Susan Dreyfus, president and CEO of the Alliance said in a statement.
