In case ya missed it, Youth Services Insider spent last week traversing the country to hit both of the major national juvenile justice conferences. First was the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s JDAI Inter-Site conference in Phoenix; second was the National Partnership for Juvenile Services (NPJS) National Symposium in Pittsburgh.
Below are links to each of the daily blogs we posted from the conferences, with a short indication of what’s covered in each:
JDAI
Day One: The Casey Foundation’s cautious merge of detention and incarceration reform, and what should be a game-changing documentary from Calamari Productions
Day Two: The State of JDAI; Talking Length of Stay; and a frank discussion on specialty juvenile courts
NPJS
Day Three: The first controlled look at services in an incarceration setting; community custody; a new model to treat serious offenders takes root in Calif., Mich.
Day Four: NPJS hanging on after a rough year; rift between Casey and NPJS?; Good and bad news on juvenile transfer research
