YouthBuild USA is releasing the following three Requests for Proposals (RFP) through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s (OJJDP) National Mentoring Program.
Cycle 3 RFP: For Former OJJDP Funded YouthBuild Affiliated Programs, the purpose of these pass-through subawards through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) National Mentoring Programs 2013 Award, ranging from $24,000-$120,000, is to strengthen and enhance a solid mentoring component in your program, based on best practices, dedicated staff, and agency support, which will improve program outcomes and increase graduate success, prevent or reduce anti-social, delinquent, or destructive behavior, and reduce recidivism for those who have been court-involved.
Cycle 3 Starter RFP: For YouthBuild Affiliated Starter Mentoring Programs, the purpose of this $12,000 capacity building pass-through subaward, through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) National Mentoring Programs Award, is to plan and launch a solid mentoring component in your program. The intent of mentoring in this context is to provide YouthBuild participants with support and guidance during the program year, but especially in the critical transition period after graduation. Through the OJJDP National Mentoring Programs Award, YouthBuild USA will expand access to mentoring for youth in YouthBuild programs new to formal mentoring that will develop a formal evidence-based mentoring component. Selected Starter Mentoring subaward programs will receive the training, onsite and remote technical assistance, tools, and resources needed to establish a quality and durable mentoring component. Matches made must receive 15 months of mentoring services.
Bridge Cycle 2 RFP: For Current OJJDP Mentoring Funded YouthBuild Affiliated Programs, the purpose of these pass-through subawards through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) National Mentoring Programs 2014 Award, ranging from $7,000-$21,000, is to strengthen and enhance a solid group mentoring component in your program, based on best practices, dedicated staff, and agency support, which will address the issues surrounding young men of color. This is a capacity building grant which will allow.25FTE funding for your current Mentoring Coordinator. The length of the mentoring programmatic cycle is 12 months. In addition, the program will receive $1,200 for a YouthBuild Graduate Mentor (who should be a young man of color), which equates to $100 per month for transportation and group mentoring preparation expenses.
