The Department of Education plans to make about 30 awards totaling $38 million to help prepare low-income students for college. The partnerships must include at least on school district or college, and at least two community-based organizations.
The projects must support an early intervention component and may support a scholarship component designed to increase college attendance and success and raise the expectations of low-income students.
Priority will be given to applications that can tie into a “Promise Zone” project.
