This program will provide funds for fellowships in blocks to eligible institutions to support doctoral candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to the study of child maltreatment, and faculty who will conduct research on critical issues in child abuse prevention and treatment and provide mentorship to the emerging scholars.
Each block must consist of one faculty member and up to two students. Among the priorities for the funding: Economic evaluations of interventions to improve outcomes of children and families in or at risk of entering the child welfare system, and studies that examine the relationship between neglect and poverty.
