The Office of Temporary & Disability Assistance is seeking contractors to support school systems with significant numbers of refugee children.
These include Erie, Onondaga, Monroe, Albany and Oneida counties.
The purpose of the Refugee School Impact Program is to:
- Address the serious short and long term educational issues facing school-aged refugee children, particularly those who have recently arrived in our state.
- Ease the transition of these refugee children into the state’s elementary, middle and high schools.
- Empower refugee parents to be effective partners in the education of their children.
- Support local school systems most heavily impacted by high numbers of refugee students.
