The Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration is seeking proposals to fund the expansion of the Family Network program.
The Family Network Program is a federally funded program intended to create a network of youth and families that have experienced serious emotional disturbances. The networks, managed by a non profit partner help organize consumers, foster leadership skills among families of children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance, and promote peer support among families who’s children have experienced mental health problem, among other functions.
This additional investment in Statewide Family Network Program grants will go towards infrastructure development of new Family Networks. The grants will enable expanded networks to participate in State and local mental health services planning and health care reform activities related to improving community-based services for children and adolescents with mental health challenges and their families.
