The Administration for Children and Families’ (ACF) Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) program is accepting applications for the Street Outreach Program (SOP).
The purpose of the SOP is to provide prevention services to runaway and homeless and street youth who have been subjected to, or are at risk of being subjected to, sexual abuse or sexual exploitation.
The scope of work is to include outreach, individualized assessment, service linkages, case planning and follow-up for youth.
Program model must include strategies for helping youth build protective factors such as connection with schools, employment, health care and caring adults. Projects must also have a strategy for reducing risk factors such as substance use, unprotected sex, and emotional distress. It is essential that strategies are trauma-informed in all aspects of how they approach and support young people to facilitate healing.
