The Prince George’s County Department of Social Services (PGCDSS), in its capacity as the coordinating agency for publicly-funded shelters in Prince George’s County, is seeking applications from interested applicants to provide overnight and hypothermic shelter for County residents experiencing a housing crisis that has resulted in temporary homelessness.
The Prince George’s County Department of Social Services (PGCDSS) is seeking applications from viable Applicant(s) to operate and manage the day-to-day activities of the overnight (year round) and hypothermic (30 week) shelter programs. Applicant(s) should be capable of managing and expanding an existing church-based shelter system where area churches sponsor a week and provide supportive services in a variety of ways including but not limit to the provision of shelter space, security, volunteer staffing, transportation, food, outreach and supportive counseling resources. PGCDSS intends to award one contract, not to exceed $200,000.00, to a vendor who demonstrates the ability to successfully meet the requirements of this Request for Applications (RFA). The selected vendor will have complete responsibility and be accountable to PGCDSS for the Scope of Services it proposes to provide under any contract awarded as a result of this RFA even if a portion or portions is subcontracted.
All responses to this solicitation must show the vendor is experienced in and capable of providing the services requested. The intent of this solicitation is to contract with one vendor to provide these services. Preference may be given to the vendor that has knowledge and experience handling issues specific to Prince George’s County and the most cost effective and comprehensive bids.
This RFA is open to all interested parties and the closing deadline for receipt of responses to this solicitation is 4:00 p.m. on September 7, 2016. Applications received after 4:00 p.m. will not be considered.
The Prince George’s County Department of Social Services strongly encourages proposals from Certified Minority, Veteran and Small Business Enterprises. Certified County-Based Businesses (CBBs), County- Based Small Businesses (CSBs) and County-Located Businesses (CLBs) are also encouraged to respond.
