The Monterey County Economic Development Department and the Monterey County Workforce Investment Board, is soliciting collaborative proposals from qualified organization(s) to provide Workforce Investment Act (WIA) to youth, aged 16-21.
The main focus of the youth program is long-term academic and occupational learning opportunities for youth, primarily in occupations with employment opportunities in Monterey County. Additionally, long-term academic and occupational learning opportunities for youth should be focused on the primary industry sectors identified by Monterey County Workforce Investment Board. Those primary industry sectors include Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality, Health and Social Assistance, and Education.
WIA program elements include: Tutoring, alternative secondary school services, paid and unpaid work experience, occupational skills training, leadership development, support services, mentoring, follow up services, guidance and counseling.
Collaborative proposals of three (3) or more agencies (including a Lead Agency) which demonstrate a proven collaborative approach will be favored for funding.
