Orange County Social Services Agency is seeking proposals to facilitate therapeutic treatment services to child abuse victims and child victims of crime.
The program, Child Abuse Treatment (CHAT), focuses on underserved children to include children who are dependents of the court and children in the welfare system. The child victims shall be children who do not have access to services due to non-availability of services, lack of resources, lack of mental health insurance and non-eligibility for other programs or services.
The CHAT Program has four measurable mandated objectives: 1) provide psychotherapeutic services to child victims; 2) provide information to child abuse victims and/or their non-offending family members on crime victim compensation services; 3) provide referral to the local victim/witness centers for assistance with the criminal justice system to prepare them for court proceedings; and 4) utilize volunteers to assist in carrying out the mandated objectives. Additionally, adjunct services such as personal services and information and referral services may also be provided to child victims and their non-offending family members.
