New York State Department of Education is seeking proposals for violence prevention after-school programs.
Grants will be made to New York schools and school districts, or not-for-profits working in collaboration with schools and school districts, to support extended school day activities that promote violence prevention. Questions must be submitted by November 13. December 8 is the optional notice-of-intent deadline.
Programs must demonstrate consistency with the school safety plans required by section 2801A of the Education Law and should not displace existing school district after-school funding. School districts and not-for-profit organizations working in collaboration with a public school district(s) may submit an application to conduct an ESD program or a SVP program or a combination of both.
