In a nutshell: Marguerite Casey, sister of Jim Casey (founder of UPS), was involved in the leadership of both The Annie E. Casey Foundation and Casey Family Programs. The Marguerite Casey Foundation was officially founded by Casey Family Programs in October of 2001 to honor Marguerite’s commitment to the community. The foundation focuses on providing families with the tools to advocate on their own behalf for change.
The Foundation’s grant making is focused on three areas addressing the needs of low income families: education, advocacy and activism. The Foundation’s support is primarily distributed to cornerstone organizations for core operating support, although some support is project-specific or capacity building focused.
