Symposium on Vulnerable Populations at USC

May 3, 2016 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm

Join students from the Sol Price School of Public Policy’s novel Media for Policy Change course to explore how journalism and media can drive social change on homelessness, child welfare and immigration.

Gary Painter, Director of Social Policy at the Price Center for Social Innovation, will provide opening remarks.

Then students will dive into their work over the semester, where they learned how to produce solution-based journalism to drive social change around some of the most pressing policy issues facing Los Angeles County and the nation.

Students focused on “soft spots” in public policy, where journalism can be used as a tool to raise awareness and drive reform.

Support these students as they present their findings in a series of brief, impactful presentations.
