2015 Adoption and Foster Care Expo

The Freddie Mac Foundation hosted the first Adoption Expo in November 2006. The Expo attracted hundreds of parents from across the region, and served as a single day overview of domestic, international, foster care adoption and foster parenting. The incredible turnout confirmed that there was a desire on the part of many families for access to information and organizations that the Expo gave them.

Before ending operations in June of 2014, The Freddie Mac Foundation invited members of the Metropolitan Washington adoption and foster care community to continue the Expo. The Adoption and Foster Care Planning Committee, comprised of public and private organizations, formed shortly thereafter to continue the outstanding legacy project of the Freddie Mac Foundation. The Expo has three main purposes: to educate, inspire and celebrate families formed through adoption or foster care.
