Tasha Matthews

Tasha is a compassionate, peaceful, and kind-hearted advocate for foster care and social justice. She graduated from UC San Diego in Thurgood Marshall college with an Ethnics Studies degree and a Literature/Writing minor. She worked at Walden Family Services as a Skills Trainer for three years and Children’s Legal Services of San Diego as a Peer Advocate for two years.
 She has been working as a Civic/Faith Specialist in the development department of Just in Time for Foster Youth for the past year. Tasha was in foster care for 21 years and grew up in East County San Diego. She was involved in JIT’s Child Welfare Advisory Council. She was on the Advisory Board of California Youth Connections and was a delegate with National Foster Youth Institute. She loves to interact with different cultures and make friends, listening and learning from people's stories. She enjoys adventure and international community engagement.
