Amal Amoora

Amal Amoora is a North African indigenous and Middle Eastern former foster youth. She was in and out of the foster care system since she was 8 and was exited at age 18. Prior to entering the foster care system, she became a commercial sexually exploited child survivor due to being a Coptic Orthodox Christian. As a former refugee who is now pursuing a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Amoora is passionate about protecting oppressed groups from violence and revictimization. She has attended a California community college and two California State University schools in the past where she has held leadership positions. Currently, Amoora works with California Youth Connection as a statewide representative in multiple committees and is a full-time student. Amoora recently started working at her college's newspaper and have always written poetry as an escape from her trauma.
